The race to reach the FIFA World Cup 2026 final rounds is now getting tough, as Czechia and Qatar are no longer in the contest after playing poorly in the last group games.
According to Suresttips, Czechia were removed from the contest after Mexico won 3-0. The defeat showed that they were not able to get the required points to move to the next round, while Mexico were ahead with a solid win against them.
Qatar were also taken out of the tournament after losing 3-1 to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Even if they played well in some of the games, they could not get the results that were needed to keep them in the competition.
With these exits, Czechia and Qatar join other teams that are already out of the tournament, which includes;
- Haiti,
- Turkey,
- Tunisia,
- Panama,
- Uzbekistan &
- Jordan.
The World Cup 2026 system allows teams two ways to qualify from the group stage. The two best teams that are in each group can directly move to the next round, while some of the top third place teams can also qualify. This has made the group stage very competitive and also a tough one.
There are still a lot of matches still left to be played and more teams will either qualify or be eliminated from the next round as the group stage continues.
